A Battleship of Paper

I was lying lazy on my couch, one summer evening… lost in cognition…
Silence reposing throughout… windows closed… properly curtained…
Tranquility was shattered with frequent patters on the window panes…
I moved my indolent self out of the comfy couch… to see the midsummer rains…

I unveiled the windows, to see the imposing grey covered firmament….
And the rain drops showering from the heavens… soothing the baking soil…
I saw children playing… dancing… enjoying every drop of the blissful drizzle…
And a beautiful longing face… clinging to a window… watching her paperboat sail…

That radiant beauty looked sad… as her boat struggled to drift ahead…
She’s young with a child-like heart… bound by society… willing to break-free…
Her boat was like her heart… battling in the waves of her sea of emotions…
She wanted to save her sinking boat… set it on course… set her feelings free…

I could see her surmounting anxiety… I could feel her restlessness…
She could see her boat struggling… but no more…
Forgetting the society… ignoring her attire… she came outdoors…
She was determined… her boat of emotions had to be rescued…

I could see a few hungry eyes… lurking in other windows…
I could see more loathly eyes… eyes of the ‘humane’ society…
Willing to crush her with morals… murder her child-like soul…
Just because she came out… ignorant of her scanty clothes…

She was brave… she’d saved her battleship… and made it sail again…
But then she realized herself… drenched… with rain and with shame…
She quickly covered herself with bare hands… hiding herself from vulture eyes…
And ran back to her dark and hideous room… where her real confined life lies…
