Those Unspoken Words

As the sun is dipping down … crying that it is the moment now…
I sit on a rock with this letter close to my chest…
And the thought of letting you go… with a wish to let you know…
That the angels must be looking at me in detest…
That in my heart I cry… for the love which I never could show…

The love which was shining on my inner world… like the sun…
Giving me strength, to fight it all…
All that was hurting you… all that was making you cry…
Wiping away the tears… bringing a light of hope… a ray of joy…
When you thought you had lost it all… it was there… afar…
Shining bright in your life… like a lonely star…

My hand which now trembles… holds this Message of my Heart…
Which once held yours… strong, relentless, ever-caring… never letting it go apart
Leading you out of this abyss… pushing you through the dark…
Pulling you through the mudding sadness… with that untiring spark
Fighting against all the resistance… offering you friendship and love…
Giving you warmth in the times of cold, hatred, torture and prejudice…

That hand trembles now… holding this Message unspoken …
Close to the heart… which is now broken…
Which now bleeds… bleeds in love… bleeds in disdain…
This brave heart… which once belonged to you… now beats in vain…
Which you maybe, never felt… yet it beat strong to stand by you…
It has said everything to me this moment… so true…

This brave heart… says that it’s time…
It’s time to let you go… it’s time to let go the pain…
It’s time to be strong for the person who deserves …
And beat for her who stands by me and protects …
This moment, while it’s going to die… with a hope…
That from this inferno, this brave heart… will rise again…

Like the Ship & the Sea

The ship sets sails one fine morning, into the golden yellow waters.
It looked doubly cheerful; and there was passion and exuberance.
After long, the anchors had been raised, screeching out of rust.
And slowly, the ship moved ahead, as the winds aided furtherance.

It danced along with waves, as the sea roared to the marine-beats.
The dolphins leaping up from its womb, like raring shooting stars.
The twitches and the turns in the air; and the plunge back into water.
Everything was so jolly about the ship, like a bird escaping the bars.

Sometimes it floated smoothly, as if taking a sunbath in peace.
Sometimes it pranced onto the waves, as they passionately mate.
Sometimes it struggled to fight, as if stunned by her sudden rage.
Sometimes it rippled on under the moon; as if ball-danced on a date.

There were times it got vexed over her and refused to move ahead.
She wouldn’t give up either; everything paused dead that moment.
No matter how much we would try, they would not see eye to eye.
We would leave it to them to decide, and find their lost love again.

Slowly and steadily, they come into rhythm, breezing ahead again.
As we march onto the unknown ends of this beautiful hidden world.
It again mingles into her realm, and we sail agog wherever she takes.
It is her charm that takes away this ship; it loses itself into her depths.

Sometimes she’s in a playful mood, and she splashes water on its deck.
It joins her in the play and rocks all the unaware innocent lives on ride.
Sliding left and then swinging right, as they jingle along and make love.
The masts struggle to hold upright, and the anchors threaten to strike.

Like the ship and the sea, we all live waiting so long for her to arrive.
Waiting to meet her someday, waiting destiny to unveil her beauty;
And then the magic flows, and we dance along in love and in bliss.
In all moments of passion and tiffs; I’m her ship and she is my sea.

Love and the Ocean

Every evening we’d walk to that secluded beach… holding each other’s hands
We’d sit there for hours and talking about feelings, worries, love and beyond…
Admiring the vastness of the ocean and perplexed by its unknown depths…
The ocean, a lot similar to our love – was profound and boundless…

We had a special spot, marked by a heart shaped rock…
We had skillfully etched our names on it… making it symbolic…
Every evening we would watch the sunset and make a thousand promises…
Waves just reaching and feeling our feet- instilling peace and quiescence…

Many-a-couple would etch their names on the sand…
And the ocean would wash it away… sometime during the night…
But our heart shaped rock with our names… she wouldn’t harm it… ever…
As if, she wanted it to be there… as if she loved to see us together…

We both loved the sunset… and I loved watching her in tranquility and peace…
I loved to watch her hair flow, like the waves of the ocean, along with the breeze…
I loved her beautiful eyes looking beyond… and that serene smile on her face…
As it’d fill my heart with more and more love… and I would kiss her on her lips…

But a year later, things changed… we left each other… breaking our hearts…
I stopped walking to the beach… stayed back spending lonely evenings…
It had been months since we had last visited our favorite spot…
I wondered how that place looked like… and if our love-rock was still there…

So that day I decided to break-free from my room of loneliness…
And walked aloof to the beach… everything flashed back… our love and togetherness…
And when I reached there, that rock was missing… I looked for it everywhere…
Like the names of lovers on the sand… the ocean had finally, washed it away…

The Clamoring Silence | Stop Violence Against Women

A thousand candles, raised close to their bosom…
With hands protecting the blinking… quivering flame…
They all walked through the streets… with placards of outcry…
Silently, peacefully, they marched… with hearts full of dissent…

Their eyes were swollen… filled with incessant tears…
Their souls grieved for her… she hadn’t died in vain…
They wanted a thousand deaths… for her beastly violators…
Faces looked red with loath… as they silently walked in disdain…

Their hearts prayed peace for her brave young soul…
A billion hearts wreathing in pain with her sufferings…
The Gods had been watching this… helplessly in disgust…
How could they create… evil monsters in human frames?

There are many like her… some dead and some live like dead…
Some wept in reticence… everyday… till their mortal body survived…
They never got their life back… their happiness murdered…
With horror of violence they live… and everyday their soul has died…

A thousand now walk for them… the victims yet filled with guilt…
A slap on the face of society… which detests… abandons the violated…
Which leaves them for death… instead of a life of love and dignity…
Virtually glorifying the violence… so inhuman… an endless insanity…

There was spirit in their walk… there was silence in the streets…
But there was an unconditional uproar in everybody’s hearts…
It was an army of candles… a troop of fighters against injustice…
They might be mute today… but there are clamors in their silence…
